Spray paint is such a quick and easy way to transform your home. If I get an upcycling idea in my head I want to make it happen fast, before the next idea comes along and I lose interest. I know, I’m a Gemini, too many ideas going on at once! Spray paint effects and colours have exploded recently, making spray paint a brilliant alternative to slaving over a tin of paint. I’ve asked some of my favourite interiors bloggers to share their projects today, I’m betting they are going to inspire you to spray paint something…but what?
A whole new piece of furniture
Kimberly at Swoonworthy knows how to make an old 1970s desk into something, well utterly swoonworthy! I love the new handles she has added, which along with the stunning black and gold spray paint work, update this old forgotten desk into something completely stunning.
Jen from Love Chic Living has a gorgeous dressing table makeover, as with all the posts I am sharing here, you need to see the before and after pictures to fully appreciate the possibilities. When I first saw this, in real life, I assumed it was a new piece of furniture!
Karen over at Making Spaces shows how one can of spray paint can totally transform a few small objects, a floor lamp, a table lamp and a plant pot in the Million Dollar Floor Lamp and Copper Tops. Just the kind of gorgeous projects that give me confidence to give spray paint a go!
Smaller projects are a great way to build up your confidence with spray paint and to recycle old objects. I love this copper plant pot in the background of my office makeover.
You can even transform a lampshade as Anna shows us over at Anna International. If you have ever fancied recycling a bottle into lampshade, this is also the tutorial for you!
Family Spray Paint Ideas
Medina over at Grillo Designs is a constant source of upcyling inspiration, especially for the family home. Check out her fabulous kids tyre seats.
Or how about the very funky transformation of the pedal bin Medina also up cycled over at Grillo designs?
Adding Value with spray paint
Spray paint can be a great way to make something look more expensive. How about this 99p Ebay purchase turned into an ‘antique’ mirror by Anna International?
Continuing the theme of adding value, spray paint really can be about the small details too. Anna International show us how to spray paint the feet on a roll top bath for a glam update to this ebay bargain.
Adding colour and warmth
If you have always fancied making your kitchen chairs a little more of an eclectic coloured gathering, but can’t face painting, well Kara at Innocent Charm Chats has just the project for you. Her chalk spray paint dining chairs look wonderful.
Blending old objects into new settings
Recently I spray painted my office filing cabinet silver, previously it was red – the new colour means it fits in much better with the calmer colour scheme and adds a bit of sparkle to the mundane job of filing.
What have you been spray painting recently? Or do you have plans to try?
